Pot with Copper Tube
This piece has been thrown on the potter’s wheel and I have added a copper tube after its final firing.
This is my abstract interpretation of embedded items or objects found along the rugged coastline. I usually notice such items poking out of the rocks or boulders, that have broken away from the cliff structure.
Occasionally I’ll find large nails, mooring rings or chains sticking out of the uneven rock surface, especially where fishermen use to anchor their boats. I also notice rusty old handrails that lead to the shoreline which have collapsed and corroded over time.
My pieces of art are unique one-off pieces, no two pieces are ever the same.
Decorative use only. Stoneware black clay, copper tube, high fired.
Measurements approx (H8cm x W11.5cm)
Care instructions: Please take care when handling this product. The blisters can occasionally burst, this is the effect of the glaze. If this happens, all it needs is a little light sanding by hand to remove any sharp edges.
Please DO NOT pick up the vessel by the copper tube.
